7 Best John Carpenter Soundtracks: in anticipation of Carpenter’s new album ‘Lost Themes’, we take a look back at his most iconic synth-laden film scores. John Carpenter has the unique distinction of being one of the best directors and composers of the 70’s and 80’s.

Track 3 is from the John Carpenter film, The Thing, however the soundtrack/score was actually by Ennio Morricone. Track 9 is from the John Carpenter film, Escape From New York. Tracklisting on CD back cover is taken from the original LP, so the tracks listed as Side B, are actually tracks on the CD.

An earful of some of the best interpretations of the musical standards of both Hammerstein and Sondheim- Thomas Provenzano, L.A. Weekly. Produced by four-time Grammy nominee Robben Ford and Anne's musical director John Boswell, Something Wonderful is a loving tribute to two masterful songwriters for the American theater, Steven Sondheim and his mentor, Oscar Hammerstein.

Apr 10,  · The German group, Splash Band, pay homage to director and composer, John Carpenter. This set of tracks, basically the main titles to most of Carpenter's early film work (Dark Star, Assault On Precinct 13, Halloween, The Fog ec) is given the electronic treatment and turns the themes into catchy dance mixes. Quite an interesting idea/5(19).
